Alzheimer's and Dementia Caregiver Support Group

Alzheimer's and Dementia Caregiver Support Group

This caregiver support group allows members to freely express and process challenges, frustrations, emotions, successes, and failures directly related to caring for someone living with Alzheimer's or related dementia. A brief educational segment will be offered at each session which can support a caregiver's need to learn more about what the care partner living with dementia is experiencing and how to respond.

A Support Group can help you…

  1. Be a part of a community of people who have the same experiences
  2. Reduce anxiety, guilt, and uncertainty
  3. Better understanding of the dementia disease process
  4. Get advice or information about practical solutions or care options
  5. Improve or learn healthy coping skills
  6. Discover new and positive care skills which can provide a better quality of life for you and your care partner
  7. Uncover ways to keep your care partner at home longer

The support group is facilitated by Linda Panarella, a Care Specialist and Director at Town Square at the Jersey Shore and Town Square Princeton—2 new and innovative Adult Day Enrichment Centers in NJ. Linda is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and PAC Certified Trainer with over 16 years of experience in a variety of senior care settings.

Meetings will contain an educational segment as well as caring conversations to support the needs of care partners.
