For our introductory program, students aged 14 to 21 are referred to us through DVRS and may be eligible for up to 20 hours of service of each of the five areas. Areas include:
Workplace Readiness Training to develop the knowledge, skills and abilities for finding and maintaining employment, including resume development and interview preparation.
Job Exploration Counseling for identifying personal vocational interests, in-demand occupations and potential career pathways.
Work-Based Learning Experiences at local businesses to explore job opportunities.
Group and Individual Counseling on enrollment opportunities in transition or post-secondary education programs.
Instruction on Self-Advocacy to learn about individual rights, responsibilities, and how to communicate thoughts, concerns and needs as they relate to employment and post-secondary education.
CEA's intermediate program offers students, aged 14-21, the opportunity to participate in a paid internship. The intermediate program is designed for students who are more independent and want to take the next steps towards their futures following high school.
CEA's out-of-school program helps unemployed youth, and young adults, ages 16-24, further develop needed skills. Young adults will have the opportunity to explore work and post-secondary educational opportunities on their path to adulthood.
Our Youth Services programs are provided in Hunterdon, Somerset, Mercer, and Middlesex Counties.
