New Jersey School Breakfast and Lunch Program

The School Breakfast Program (SBP) provides cash assistance to states to operate nonprofit breakfast programs in schools and residential childcare institutions.  State education agencies administer the SBP at the state level, and local school food authorities operate the program in schools.

The NJ Connect for Recovery Call Line was established to support two distinct groups across the state of New Jersey: those concerned with their own opiate use; and, those who are experiencing distress related to the opiate use of a friend or family member. This service is a safe, confidential, nonjudgmental forum for people to connect, grow and transform through a unique combination of supportive counseling from certified alcohol and drug counselors and peer specialists.

The Division of Disability Services (DDS) provides a single point-of-entry for people seeking disability related information in New Jersey. DDS serves individuals with all disabilities, statewide.

NJ Emergency Assistance

These benefits include, but not limited to: essential food, clothing, shelter & household furnishings; temporary rental assistance, back rent or mortgage payments; utility payments (such as heat, water, electric); transportation to search for housing; & moving expenses. Eligible persons are those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. 

NJ Energy Assistance: Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally-funded program that helps low-income households with their home energy bills. LIHEAP can help you stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. By doing so, you can reduce the risk of health and safety problems (such as illness, fire, or eviction).

NJ Energy Assistance: Universal Service Fund (USF)

USF helps make energy bills more affordable for low income customers. If you are eligible, USF can lower the amount you have to pay for natural gas and electricity.
Assistance Provided To: Low income persons.
Type of Assistance: Credit on natural gas or electricity.

NJ Energy Assistance: Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)

WAP assists elderly, handicapped and low-income persons in weatherizing their homes, improving their heating system efficiency and conserving energy.

Assistance Provided To: Low-income occupants; community-based agencies assisting low-income occupied dwelling units
Award Period: October 1 to September 30; July 1 to June 30.
